If the event site cannot put stake holes in the asphalt, or the ground is too soft to hold the stake plates, there are other rigging options. The entire rig can be anchored to cement blocks and/or the main ride cable can be attached to a heavy truck.

Thank you for your interest in my motorcycle thrill show. This page describes the motorcycle/highwire rigging. The rigging for aerial artistry is located on the individual act's video page.

The following is what I need from you for set-up. The measurements are preferred, but I am generally able to work with your event space.

-200 feet by 50 feet of level, solid, dry surface
-50 feet over head clearance
( surface can be asphalt, but be advised there will be holes left in the blacktop which I will fill with sand and patch when rigging is removed- solid, packed earth is best)
- area cleared for driving 36"stakes by the municipality (www.udig.com) or the private owner
- electricity to show site for set up and during show time for lights and sound system and dressing room trailer parked on show site
-two laborers, who are able to swing a sledge hammer, for two hours for set-up and tear down
- access to show area 24 hours prior to first show

The low A-frame in the above picture is twelve feet high. This is where the act begins with the driver on the bike and the trapeze artist mounting the trapeze from the ground.

The 5/8th ride cable is staked to the ground at both ends with these stake plates (pic opposite). The plates are 2 x 3 feet and made of 1/2 inch steel plate. Seven, 36" steel stakes anchor these plates to the ground. This is the same design used by big tops around the world to secure much heavier weight.

Four smaller stake plates anchor four guy wires attached to the top of the low A-frame(above pic). Another four anchor the guy wires attached to the top of the 30 foot high top truss. (opposite pic) All eight are staked down with the same size stakes. As you can see, all precautions are taken to orange cone the stakes and flag the guy wires for audience safety.

When the frames are up and the cable is staked, the ride cable threads through the bike while it is on the ground on it's cart. The cable is then racheted up into position, the bike riding along with the cable. There are no other lifts or machines needed to raise the bike.

This act is self contained, all I need is adequate space and a couple of guys for a few hours to drive the stakes.

Event Contract
As discussed, the following shall constitute the agreement between __________________________
and Circus Una Productions LLC to provide services as an independent contractor for the event detailed below.

Services provided:
Motorcycle Trapeze High Wire Thrill Show, (thrill show) maximum five thrill shows per day, with approximately two hours in between shows. Thrill Show site is available throughout event for other rally activities between thrill shows. Thrill show comes complete with outdoor lighting and sound system.

Rigging: All rigging will be completed before gates are open to public otherwise security is needed throughout set up. 20 amp electric service at site at time of rigging and throughout event. Day labor (two strong men) is required for set up and tear down. Please see rigging procedure and requirements.


Compensation: To Be Determined, One hotel room near show site for the night before and every night that follows a show. (Or a full hookups at a camp site on event grounds) Permission to sell merchandise at own booth at thrill show site.

1) Circus Una Productions LLC agrees to provide services as an independent contractor and not as an employee of________________________________________________________
and it is understood that performers shall have exclusive supervision and control over the means, method and details for the services detailed above.
2) Furthermore, notwithstanding any other provisions or terminology of this contract, Circus Una Productions LLC, as an independent contractor, agrees that___________________________________________
shall have no obligation to Circus Una Productions LLC as employee, including but not limiting to withholding any governmental taxes; the providing of workman's compensation insurance, payment of F.I.C.A. taxes, or the providing of other benefits.
3) ___________________________________________understands the Motorcycle Thrill Show is to be installed outside. All considerations will be made to present agreed upon number of shows, however cancellation of shows due to weather or otherwise unsafe conditions will not effect contract compensation.
4) Circus Una Productions LLC agrees to hold__________________________________________
or any of its officers, directors, independent contractors, and volunteers harmless from and against any and all claims for property damages and personal injury damage arising out of company's delivery, set-up, performance of, dismantling, removing thrill show from event premises.
5) Circus Una Productions LLC is covered by a 1 million dollar general aggregate spectator/premises liability insurance. A certificate of liability insurance will be faxed to parties concerned and will be on hand at event.
